Dr. David Begg

David Begg was appointed to Chair the WRC in 2021. He is currently Chair of the Pensions Authority and the Balbriggan Regeneration Project. He is a former General Secretary of ICTU, former Chair of the Mater Hospital and was CEO of Concern Worldwide from 1997 to 2001. He is a former Director of the Central Bank and Aer Lingus. He was a Governor of the Irish Times Trust from 2000 to 2010. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Maynooth University and also holds Master Degrees in International Relations and in Theology from DCU.
