Alex White SC

Alex White, Senior Counsel, has a general civil law practice, specialising in employment law (judicial review, statutory appeals and claims brought in the employment bodies). He is an accredited Mediator. He was called to the Inner Bar in 2010. In 2012 he took leave of absence from legal practice to become, firstly, Minister of State at the Department of Health and subsequently, in cabinet, Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources. Prior to commencing legal practice in 1994 he was a producer with RTE. Since January 2023 Alex White has been Director of the Institute of International and European Affairs. He is a member of the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board, the Board of the Irish Cancer Society, and of the Board of Trinity College Dublin
